“Fake” throwing someone out a window

Let me say up front that this will probably scare the living crap out of someone if done correctly, but you need to be safe in how you do this.
A friend of mine told me this prank that went off perfectly. Here is what happened. One night at college party (with plenty of drinking), one of the guys got pretty wasted. He lived on the 3rd floor of the dorm. It was a dorm with cookie-cutter rooms so they all look the same, except for physical belongings. Beds, desks, night tables, were all the SAME in every room.
The friends took Mr. Drunk’s stuff from his 3rd floor room down to a ground floor room. They made the ground floor room look like his by putting up his posters, putting his stuff in the room, etc.
They then brought the friend back to “his” (ground floor) room. They pretended to come up with a great idea of throwing him out the window. He had no idea he was really on the ground floor, so he’s fall all of a foot or two. So this was SAFE (key point). But regardless, the poor drunk guy had no idea the friends had setup an elaborate hoax. He begged them to not throw him out the window, etc. He had no idea he would only fall a foot to the ground. Everyone had a good laugh.
Dorm Pranks with DVDs (Hilarious)

Ok, here is a quick and easy prank that computer-savvy people can play as a dorm prank. I’ll leave the planning details up to you but here is the basic idea.
- Get your dorm mate into a situation where he/she is going to play a DVD movie, preferably in front of a large group of people for a dorm room get together, etc.
- You must know in advance what the movie will be.
- Download the cover for the DVD disk itself on a Torrent site, and use a CD/DVD cover printer to print out that exact same cover on a blank DVD.
- Get ahold of some “adult material” and burn the content onto the DVD
Voila. You now have a replicate of the movie your dorm mate is about to watch, but it contains something a little more entertaining than the movie itself. Make sure that your dorm mate is the one who puts it into the DVD player and hits play.

Dorm Pranks: Hiding an Alarm Clock in the Toilet

There are just so many great dorm pranks that involve waking somebody up in the middle of the night to a strange sound. Here’s another variation on that same theme. Get yourself one of those small alarm clocks that can operate on a battery, with no need to be plugged in. Test it to make sure it will work. The louder the better.
Now, this works best when you do it to somebody with a private dorm room. Go visit him and then say you need to use his bathroom at some point. Take the alarm clock and set it for an awful hour of the night. Place it in a ziplock bag. Make sure it is closed tight! Then, put the alarm clock inside of the toilet tank.
If he is a light sleeper, he’ll eventually wake up from this annoying sound and wonder what it is. It will take him a long time to figure out that it’s in the toilet tank!
Dorm Pranks for Night: Darnkess Activated Noises

As far as cheap dorm pranks go, here is one that is really cheap. This hilarious little device to piss off almost anyone after they turn out the lights. As described at PrankPlace:

Dorm Pranks: Shower Prank

Dorm Pranks that take place in the bathroom are plentiful. Here is a really easy one that is hilarious. You want to find a dorm room where the shower head is activated by a diverter on the bath spout. When you find such a bathroom, you need to find a way to hold the diverter pin in the “up” position so that as soon as your dorm mate turns on the water, the water immediately comes out of the shower head rather than out of the bathtub spout. You should be able to jam the diverter pin in the “up” position with anything that fits nicely into the space. The next step, obviously, is to simply turn the shower head such that it points towards where the victim will be when he or she turns on the water. This is a beautiful and simple dorm prank. When your roomate turns on the water for a shower, it will be cold, and it will spray all over him or her, and will be a total surprise.
Dorm Pranks: Papering a Doorway

This has to be one of my favorite low-cost dorm pranks of all time. The result of the prank is that when the subject opens his door, a huge pile of styrofoam packing material (little pieces) falls into his room. I’m not a fan of dorm pranks that injure people or their property, but I love good clean (or sometimes dirty) fun. This completely fits, and is easy to do.
Like many door-related dorm pranks, This will only work for doors that open inwards. Find yourself a victim and wait until he is in his room and intends to stay there for a while. You don’t want to get caught during the setup. All you need is some tape, some newspaper, and a whole pile of that styroafoam “popcorn”, used for packaging. You can probably get a bunch of this from the IT department because they likely get all sorts of new electronic stuff shipped to them all the time.
Start out by taping a bunch of newspaper together so that you create one large sheet, large enough to cover the entire doorway from the floor to about 12-inches below the top of the door. You need to leave the 12-inch gap so you can later fill the void with styrofoam popcorn. If you pre-measure the doorframe, you’ll have less work to do on-site, and less chance of getting caught. Now, take your supplies to the victim’s room and tape the paper wall in place. Then, start filling the void between the door and the paper with the styrofoam. Calculate how much you need ahead of time! Volume = height x width x depth. Do some math so you have enough foam popcorn!
Now, once you have the prank setup, simply knock on the door (at the top, where you’ve left your gap) and hide. You gotta love cheap and easy dorm pranks like this.
New College Year - Plan Your Dorm Pranks

Dorm pranks are probably the most memorable part of College. It’s September, and the start of a new school year, so it’s time so get things started on the right foot. Dorm pranks are sure fire way to keep things entertaining on campus. Do you like to make people laugh? Are you looking for some hilarious jokes to play on others? Here are some timeless and classic dorm pranks:
Short Sheeting Bed - This simple prank is great for someone who’s had a few too many drinks. You start by taking the flat sheet of a bed and pulling it up all the way to the headboard. Next, fold the bottom of the flat sheet up towards where the pillow is placed so that it appears as if it is actually the top of the flat sheet. When the victim gets into bed, his legs will meet the fold in the flat sheet halfway down the length of the bed. It’s hilarious to watch some drunken fool get frustrated as he tries to settle down for the night.
Bedtime at the Movies - For this dorm prank, you will need a party sized bag of popcorn, an uptight roommate and access to his or her bed. Strip the bed down to the mattress. Apply a thick and even layer of popcorn over the entire surface of the mattress. Carefully replace the fitted sheet. Make the rest of the bed. Invite a few friends over and wait for your roommate to hit the sack for the night. Have video camera ready.
Sticky Shower - Get a single hard candy. It should have no color. Unscrew the shower head and place the candy inside shower head cavity. Then screw it back on. When the victim goes to take a hot shower, the sugar in the candy will start to dissolve and start to come out in the shower. When the victim dries off after showering, he’ll be surprised to notice the sticky coating all over him.
Rotting Food Trick - This is a simple and harmless dorm prank, but it sure is powerfully disgusting! Take any food that will rot in an unbelievably nasty way. Chicken meat works well. Get a tupperware style container that you can afford to destroy. Place the food in the container and put the lid on tight. Poke a few holes in the lid with a knife. Place the container somewhere in your victim’s room so that it will not be quickly found. In a couple of days he’ll drive himself crazy trying to find the source of the foul odor. Such a classic!
Liquid Ass - This product has an unlimited potential for fun. If you enjoy grossing people out, or embarrassing those uptight about rectal odors, this is the product for you. Just spray liquid ass in close proximity to the victim and enjoy the reaction. Some great ways to use this include: inside a packed elevator, on the dance floor in a club, on the door handle to the bathroom (so it gets on someone’s hand after they have washed up). You can also spray this on some sort of applicator and wipe it on their beer bottle. Get creative! Endless fun with this product.
Hidden Alarm Clock - Take an alarm clock and set it for a cruel and unusual “middle of the night” hour. Hide it in your dorm mate’s bedroom. Enjoy. This never gets old!
Remote Control Switches and Appliance Timers - This is another unbelievably flexible dorm prank category. Simply get yourself a remote control appliance switch, or a plug-in appliance timer. These things basically allow you to plug anything into a normal wall socket, and have it turned on or off by a timer or a remote control. The best way I’ve seen this product used is to have a power drill under a victim’s bed and to then turn it on (with remote) after they fall asleep. When they wake up, immediately turn it off. They will think they are dreaming. Repeat many times.
