Fake a Computer Virus with Your BlackBerry
Posted by admin
Ok everyone - here is a dorm prank that I just invented off the top of my head. The object of this prank is to cause your friend to think his computer has been infected with a virus that has the power of voice communication.
You need a BlackBerry, a Bluetooth puck (a BlackBerry accessory) and access to your friend’s computer. Here is what you do.
1) Disconnect the speakers from your buddy’s computer and instead connect the speakers to the bluetooth puck. This way you will be able to send audio files to the speakers remotely, and your friend will think the sound is coming from his computer. The bluetooth puck is tiny, the size of a pack of matches, so it won’t be noticed.
2) Use a BlackBerry and pair the bluetooth puck to the BlackBerry. You should test the setup by making sure that you can stream an MP3 song over to your buddy’s computer.
3) Record an audio file that you will use with the prank. Or make several files that you can play in succession. Use a disguised voice or get someone else to help you. I suggest the audio file should be about 5-6 seconds long and simply announce, “Haha - I’ve infected your computer with the powerful and completely new blue shark trojan. On (pick a date) we’re going to have some real fun. Have a nice day!”.
4) Save the audio file onto your BlackBerry so that you can stream it to your buddy’s PC whenever you like. If you create 3-4 similar messages you can taunt your buddy with these by playing them every 10-15 minutes. BlueTooth should work with a 30 foot range, so you don’t even need to be in the same room.
5) Perhaps record the whole thing with a webcam so that you can upload the hilarious result to YouTube.
Enjoy!
